Tribute to Lagerfeld

I committed my design today to Fashion Fest's One of a Kind Tribute to Valentino and Lagerfeld Fashion Show.....I chose the Lagerfeld design in the slideshow to recreate for this major fashion event.

The moment that was sent, I was asked to submit one for review to Opium Agency for blog inclusion, lol. Not really sure how I feel about sending my designs *free* all over the place. I'm still new at things, relatively; essentially unaware of the extensive network and how things operate, but I have a feeling Fashion Fest will be an enormous learning experience! Already, in just two weeks, my entire image has started to glisten with the extra polish.

So the design at right is a reproduction of an actual Karl Lagerfeld 2009 runway creation. The dress is a metallic silky rayon taffeta in a platinum color which is the one of a kind in SL. The original color in pewter along with a bridal version which I'll share once Fashion Fest opens includes all of the following 3 metallics, 4 pastels, and 4 gemstone colors on sale beginning July 2 at Fashion Fest only then in main store after July 11: amethyst, aqua, barely mauve, copper, emerald, gold, lavender, onyx, ORIGINAL in pewter, ruby, sapphire, and sky blue.

I'll be attending most evenings of Fashion Fest after 6 pm. Come visit!

Fashion Fest July 2-11

As a new designer, this is THE way to be seen by the most amount of people in the shortest amount of time! This is the THIRD ANNUAL fashion expo produced by the same group as the last two years and hosted on nine sims. I would have loved to have hosted, but didn't hear about Fashion Fest (previously Expo) until late May.

I'll be premiering the pink version of my Pretty Woman Polo Ensemble I've been holding onto for several weeks just for this event! It will be one of the RFL vendor items as well.

I'll have several new items to premier at this show including some casual summer items in vintage style as well as a few fun nautical and tropical floral patterns to show off. Most exciting is that I'll be premiering a Lagerfeld dress just for this show! Given time, I'll update the blog with pics!

Market Day wrap up!

With daily foot traffic over 100 and numbers of search traffic in the 4500-5k range daily, this event saw better traffic and higher sales than past Market Days!

While there was a small turn-out for Martini in the Morning's lunchtime broadcast of the "Two Martini Lunch," vendors came out to support this featured musical part of Market Day, and Brad "Martini" Chambers mentioned Market Day in his broadcast! We'll be inviting him back to Argenteuil along with his lunchtime broadcast for certain!

On the other hand, Explosive Concerts blew out the sim with their production of Metallica's Death Magnetic tour attracting over 25 visitors for their 1:45 show. Thankfully the sim is still in one piece :)

Pretty Woman Ensemble

One of the outfits I've always admired even though it was never seen "on the Red Carpet" was Julia Roberts's polo outfit in Pretty Woman. You know, that super-simplistic but uber-classy sleeveless A-line smock accessorized with that awesome Breton, bag, belt, gloves, and the earrings...

Well, I'm not really a jewelry designer, but I threw in shoes since I'm not really into jewelry!

Yes, "*~s0c~* Pretty Woman Polo Ensemble" has hit Xstreet and my shop. Right now, the "Punch" version of this dress is the Market Day promo, so you can get a super deal if you're willing to put in a little effort, buy half of the outfit on Xstreet, then visit my Market Day Stall, which btw, is on my NEW HOME SIM!

The ensemble comes in the classic brown, basic black, and Fashion Fest 2010 pink which is being saved for Relay for Life auction. Once the Fest begins, the dress will be offered in a special vendor where a portion of the proceeds will be donated to that very worthy cause.

MARKET DAY in ARGENTEUIL!

After almost a month of intense sim work, switching over all inventory to ad board vendors from the hippos, and building the venue, Market Day is ready to launch the GRAND OPENING of ARGENTEUIL!

There are a number of special things planned for your visit including the "Two Martini Lunch" Thursday at noon and METALLICA to cap the week on Saturday at 4 pm. It's a true "Dads & Grads" themed musical week! MusicNotPolitics will also provide a great slate of some of the best musicians in SL including KevinThomas Carpool. Our full music schedule will be posted here as well as in your Market Day News.

You'll land at the gazebo, and from there you can walk Vendors Way up the beautiful embossed metal ramp, seeing what all 22 vendors have to offer you. If you're in the mood to start with the music, take the TP straight to the ballroom area where the stage on top offers not only our musical guests, but a great panoramic view! Any TP within the common areas of Argenteuil will take you to great shopping at either LiX for casual men's and women's or formal and dressy casual for women at S0phie's Choice Design. But before you leave, toss a few breadcrumbs to the baby swans and grab a boat ride for a gorgeous view of the waterways while enjoying the lounge sounds of Martini in the Morning.
